Job Description:
Everest Global Services, a member of the Everest Re Group, LTD, a worldwide Reinsurance Company, is looking for an outstanding individual to fill a position in our Actuarial Catastrophe Modeling department at our headquarters in Warren, New Jersey.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Run catastrophe models and price a significant volume of reinsurance contracts.
• Write SQL code to process model data input and output.
• Interact with underwriters and provide analytical support on contracts.
• Work on projects that speak to your interests and strengths, e.g., model validation, model building, automation of pricing workflows, reporting, backend system development, UI development, etc.
Qualifications:
• Exceptional problem solving skills and self-motivation.
• Understanding of probability and statistics.
• Programming/coding skills (SQL, Python, R, C#, etc.).
• Ability to develop new programming skills quickly and effectively.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and teamwork mindset.
• Knowledge of data science or machine learning a plus.
• Opportunities available for both actuarial and non-actuarial tracks.
