ECS is seeking a Junior Cloud Systems Engineer to work in our Washington, DC office.

Job Description:
We are looking for a junior system engineer that is looking to join a strong cloud team supporting critical national security workloads. This individual will have some experience in operations and engineering in the cloud but also must have a strong passion to learn more about cloud, DevOps, automation, and software development. As we seek to deliver mission critical cloud services to the federal government, the stability, automation, and scalability will be critical to our success. This individual will have the opportunity to work on many different projects with many different capabilities. Work location is currently remote due to COVID-19, however ability to work from Washington DC client site is expected.

A strong candidate will always seek to deliver work as code in a repeatable manner, have a desire to lead and have experience with modern DevOps technologies to provide high quality technical delivery for transformational efforts and teams.

Required Skills:

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
• BA/BS with a relevant degree
• At least 3 years of experience in and working familiarity with:
  • Linux
  • Cloud infrastructure in AWS or Azure
  • Configuration management experience through Ansible/Terraform/Chef/Puppet etc
  • Git, CI/CD and other development tools
  • Scripting skills in at least one language (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to take complex tasks and complete them with minimal assistance

Desired Skills:

• Proven success in supporting production cloud services
• Experience in AWS CDK
• Experience in technical delivery in the federal space
• Understanding of DevOps processes, methodologies, and philosophies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in both AWS and Azure Cloud Environments
• Relevant associate level cloud or DevOps certifications
