Purpose

This position will work closely with Senior Systems Administrators. This position will play an essential role within the IT department, focusing on the maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems, and servers.

As an exempt Junior Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining on-premises and cloud hosted server systems. This may entail after-hours work and work on weekends to ensure critical tasks are completed in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to giving direction to the IT Support Technicians to ensure smooth operations with utilizing various systems, assisting help desk with systems-related issues, and the reporting of any major issues to other system admins, or IT Directors as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the administration of O365 environment, Intune, Exchange, and Azure environment.
  • Assists with the administration of the on-premises environment.
  • Assists with device compliance.
  • Assists with license oversight.
  • Documentation of Azure configurations.
  • Documentation of network diagrams and troubleshooting network related issues.
  • Document system configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Assists with regular backup operation and failover operations for data protection and disaster recovery.
  • Management of surveillance of network closets.
  • Aiding in SCCM operations.
  • Assists with regular patching of server systems and virtual machines.
  • Administration of Zoom environment.
  • Aid in establishing IT infrastructure for office openings.
  • Aid in cleanup efforts of old/unused accounts, mailboxes and O365 licenses.
  • Aid in management of mailboxes and distribution lists.
  • Under the supervision of the Senior System Administrator, or their supervisor, assists in testing new configurations and managing sandbox environments.
  • Accurate reporting of tickets within the FreshService ticketing system.
  • Ensuring critical tasks and projects are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist help desk team with systems related issues.
  • Creation and up to date documentation of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Posting of IT instructions for end users to follow in the FreshService Knowledge Base.
  • Assist with Intune functions.
  • Provide network administration support (establishing connections, firewall management, interface configuration, point of contact for Internet providers, troubleshoot network devices, etc.).
  • Establish network specs (baselines, network floor plans, logical and physical network diagrams).
  • Assist in ordering new server equipment and providing hardware and software installation services on local and remote servers.
  • Updates programs and equipment with enhancements and system changes.
  • Attend training sessions on new products and provide input for users in utilizing the products.
  • Attain additional certifications as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or 5+ years of experience in an IT environment.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Competency in IT Security policies, controls, and best practices.
  • Ability to research technical material and translate it into viable recommendations.
  • Ability to manage and track multiple priorities and related details.
  • Highly organized, disciplined thinker and effective time manager.
  • Drive and focus to complete projects and tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment.
  • Experience in hardware installation.
  • Experience in server and network administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Attentiveness to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate potential issues effectively and timely.
  • Willingness to achieve certifications in specific technologies as needed.
Required Certifications
  • AZ-104, Microsoft Azure Administrator certification, or commitment to attain this certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification, or commitment to attain this certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Special Requirements

  • This position is a role with in-person responsibilities with the option for remote work flexibility on Fridays. Employees wishing to maintain a remote work arrangement must be able to fulfil the following conditions:
    • Ability to report to designated duty station as needed
    • Ability to maintain secure and appropriate personal work environment for day-to-day work
    • Access to strong and reliable internet access
    • Ability to adhere to CWS data security policies and protect sensitive and personally identifiable information
  • Regular work hours must span core business hours 8-5PM Eastern time
  • Close proximity to U.S. airport and ability to travel to attend CWS and external meetings, conferences and other in-person engagements
  • Must use CWS provided laptop and cell phone
