The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging is seeking a Laboratory and Research Tech to perform research, analysis, and support duties pertaining to two research grants in the Department's Research Division. The performance of these duties is critical to the successful completion of the specific aims of these grants.

The first research grant is focused upon exploring a precision medicine-based approach to the management of traumatic brain injury (TBI) in the setting of hemorrhage shock.

Responsibilities for supporting this study include:

  • Provide logistical support throughout the study
  • Ensure sufficient supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals are available to support the planned study
  • Record data during the study
  • Participate in the conduct of model creation

The second research grant is focused upon exploring brain clearance mechanisms following blast overpressure exposure in a preclinical model.

Responsibilities for supporting this study include:

  • Provide support for ensuring sufficient supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals are available for the study
  • Participate in induction and maintenance of anesthesia for animals
  • Introduction of CSF tracer
  • Record data during the study

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

Animal surgical experience preferred

Other:

Projected hourly rate: $18/hour

This position will work up to 40 hours per week.

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
