Summary:
A full-time laboratory technician in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, this person would perform a variety of laboratory duties in a cancer research laboratory focused on transcription factors and gene expression. Tissue culture, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, as well as Western blotting and bacterial culture techniques would be the primary laboratory duties. Additionally, work with mice (tumor implantation/excision, drug treatment, health monitoring, euthanasia) will be required. This individual would also aid in the maintenance of the laboratory, assisting with placing orders and maintaining laboratory materials and equipment.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in a science-related field; or
2. Associate's degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time laboratory experience.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate should have the following experience:

-Molecular biology, biochemistry, and human cell culture techniques and practices.

-Conducting research directives with moderate oversight.

-Working with mice, including tumor implantation and monitoring, drug treatment, euthanasia, and sample collection.

-Lab organizational skills, including inventory keeping/organizing and ordering.

-Ability to train new lab members.
