RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Irving, TX that is seeking a Lead Data Engineer. Summary:The Lead Data Engineer (Data Engineer IV) is an integral part of the team that is maintaining and operating the Data Warehouse and BI reports. This hands-on leadership position is responsible for ETL activities using Microsoft SSIS/SQL, reporting (SSRS), and analytics (SSAS). This person will also be responsible for developing a working knowledge of the business model and database structures to effectively support the existing platform while working to implement new solutions. This position is based at the HQ in Irving (Las Colinas), Texas.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Data Engineer will design, write, test, and deploy code for data engineering solutions
• Participated in design and code review sessions
• Analyze data, highlight trends, resolve issues, and produce findings
• Develop technical documentation of processes and infrastructure
• Support requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements
• Lead Data Engineer will quickly assess a situation then develop and implement effective solutions
• Proficient in developing and executing test plans including unit and regression testing
• Troubleshoot problems in the data environment tune for performance optimization
• Support all aspects of the data System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Participate in the production support rotation monitoring jobs and scheduled tasks to intervene if issues arise
• Lead Data Engineer will onboard and mentor other data engineers on the team

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent military/other experience
• At least 5 years of advanced experience in designing, developing data solutions utilizing Microsoft technologies (SSRS/SSIS)
• Experience with implementing and supporting Kimball data warehousing methodology
• Knowledge of Relational and Dimensional data modeling
• Proficient in the use of advanced level T-SQL for developing complex stored procedures, triggers, tables, functions, indexes, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of Lambda Architecture, Hot (Realtime), and Cold (Batch) Paths
• Experience with cloud-based data solutions
• Provide excellent customer service with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and team collaboration skills
• Local (Dallas/Fort Worth area) candidates only - no relocation
• Applicants must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in cloud Data warehouse environment using Azure technologies like Synapse, Data factory, Event Hubs
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as the Hadoop ecosystem
• Experience creating PowerShell script
• Familiarity with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
• Experience developing and/or administering data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, or Power BI
• Knowledge of Database Administration for Microsoft SQL Server in an Enterprise environment
• Data science experience using Python machine learning, R statistical modeling, or Data Mining techniques is a plus
• Previous development experience using an Agile methodology
• Financial or retail industry experience is a plus
