The Role

Leads testing of networked devices in a lab environment on Access Network equipment.  Identifies appropriate hardware and software combinations necessary to accurately recreate field scenarios that capture device performance.  Runs test cases and troubleshoots test case failures to identify the root cause.  Is the Subject Matter Expert for the test area assigned to (i.e. Feature Functionality).  Work with the DUT vendor to identify proper architectures to make features and functions operate as designed and intended in requirements.  Run testing in the lab and present to the vendor and internal stakeholders on results and status.  Create and maintain test case and test plan documentation and results reporting.  This role also is responsible for designing test Automation solutions for the team and implementing them in the lab.

The Main Responsibilities

• Demonstrated high command for the skills and technology related to Access equipment (OSI model, Routing, ITU standards, RFCs, etc.)
• Experience leading projects and being a subject matter expert
• Well-versed in test lab operations
• Skilled in troubleshooting
• Able to design & Implement test cases and build test plans
• Demonstrated responsibility for configuration and setting up test environments
• History of troubleshooting defects to identify a root cause
• Clear and concise communicator, written and verbal
• Understanding of testing methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps
• Knowledge of basic scripting (Python preferred)
• Atlassian Jira experience

What We Look For in a Candidate

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field required or equivalent work experience
• MS in same fields preferred or equivalent work experience
• 5-8 years of experience in Computer Networking
• 5-8 years of experience in Testing/Troubleshooting
• CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, CWNP preferred
