Job Description

Lead Medical Assistant Job Functions:

  • Supervise all medical assistant's personnel
  • Train, educate and develop Medical Assistants.
  • Ensures consistent department operation are met daily
  • Ensures medical assistants follow established HEDIS protocol.
  • Assist Physicians as needed.
  • Assist in triage and walk-in patients.
  • Educate patients as needed on their medical conditions.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of supplies and equipment requirement.
  • Conduct and review logs audits of refrigerator medications for expiration.
  • Ensures compliance with Coumadin procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental agencies guidelines.
  • Address patient's problems/concerns when arise
  • Monthly departmental meeting and trainings as needed.
Medical Assistant Required Qualifications:

  • 1 - 5 years of leadership experience
  • Medical Assistant Degree (diploma or AA) REQUIRED
  • High school Diploma or equivalent GED
  • 2 - 4 years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care
  • Excellent customer service
  • Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment
  • Must be a team player with excellent communication skills
  • Experience with MS Outlook
This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Medical Assistant Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Experience with HEDIS
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification or Registration from the following: American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA), National Healthcareer Association, National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Allied Health (AAH), American Registry of Medical Assistants, National Association for Health Professionals, and/or American Medical Technologist
  • Rad tech license ( AART)

Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM
