Accountabilities:

Job Title: Lead Model Risk Analyst

Job Details

  • Lead model validation projects to conduct robust and comprehensive testing and analysis according to the bank's Model Risk Management Policy and relevant regulatory guidelines.
  • Lead and assign project-specific responsibilities to junior-level model risk analysts and provide input for their performance reviews.
  • Assess model risk and make recommendations on model use and remediation of identified deficiency.
  • Generate validation reports detailing conclusions of the model validation and present findings and recommendations to model owners and relevant management committees.
  • Participate in other model validation activities, such as the discussion of Model Risk Management.
  • Policy and regulatory guidelines and the improvement of model validation practices.
  • Prepare and present periodical model risk related reports to relevant committees and stakeholders.
  • Worksite is in Des Moines, Iowa with the option to work from home 2 days per week.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience with financial modelling or validation.
  • 3 years of experience with QRM, PolyPaths, or Principia.
  • 3 years of experience with model validation tests and methodologies.
  • 3 years of experience with Python, R, or SAS.
  • 3 years of experience with Excel.
  • 3 years of experience with VBA.
  • 3 years of experience with SQL or Access.
  • 3 years of experience with Market Risk, Credit Risk, Economic Capital, and/or Value at Risk models.
  • 3 years of experience with fixed income model assumptions including mortgage prepayment, pricing, liquidity, and callable bond valuation.

Hours per week/Wage: 40 hours per week; salary range between $106,984 to $160,476/yr.

Compensation Range:
: $106,984.00 - $160,476.00

This salary range represents the Bank's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of hire. Offer to be determined by selected applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills & abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.This role is also eligible to participate in the Bank's annual incentive plan.
