SUMMARY

The Product Manager acts like a catalyst between the needs of the Market and the capabilities and resources of our R&D department, adjusting and balancing expectations with resources and driving projects in order to maximise our market penetration and our economic results. This role includes hands-on product management activities, as well as mentoring and leading a small team of product managers. Focus will be the NA market, while being tightly integrated into the MSS global team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market research / market intelligence / market sizes / regional variations
  • Competitor screening and analysis: understand competitors SW, HW and Services and maintain benchmarking tracking lists
  • Definition and development of the product, managing the product lifecycle incl. Phase-in and phase-out, planning of New Generations etc. (NPI, PDP, following IL1-IL6 templates and preparation and driving the process) incl.:
    • Product description like functions, different models (LPP, MPP, HPP), design, market, pricing, etc.
    • Meeting target cost
    • Economical study / Business case
    • Marketing and public relations of the product
    • Feed Marketing operation and TSS for the preparation of the communication material as sales support
    • Alignment and close communication to sales
  • Coordination all cross-functional activities between the different respective functions necessary for the PDP process, especially focus on:
    • Coordination of technical specifications with R&D / technical department
    • Coordination with Sales and Marketing to push the product to the market
    • Coordination of activities required for regional certifications / homologations
    • Coordination with Technical service to have always same information level, latest product trainings, etc.
  • Cost optimization / customization of the product
  • Managing of additional services and consumables (if possible) supporting the sales of the product
  • Verify budget and sales planning supporting sales

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering (with 5 years' experience in automotive business development)
  • 7 years of experience in product management.
  • Automotive Aftermarket experience.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostics industry, market, distribution channels and customers.
  • Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and technology.
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability and desired to lead and mentor a small team of product managers.
  • ADAS knowledge highly preferred.
