As a Senior Product Security Engineer in the Enterprise Cyber Security (ECS) team, you will design, develop, deliver and maintain innovative core products and services that enable PayPal to serve its customers with revolutionary security. This senior role will give the opportunity to develop skills, collaborate across teams, mentor peers and continue learning in a rapidly changing environment.

Job Description:

The Team
You will be part of a world-class Product Security team and help deliver the most customer delight through our products and services.

• Implement Next Gen platform security products to enable PayPal's product development.
• Implement and Test Next Gen AppSec products as part of SDLC. Perform quality code reviews to validate against the secure coding guidelines, ensuring that the code conforms to the design.
• Build products, tools and services from scratch, as well as evolving existing systems.
• Gain expertise and deep understanding of PayPal's development cycles, platforms and technology, while contributing to them via inner sourcing.
• Interpret business requirements and translate them into detailed design specifications and code.
• Collaborate with Security Architects, Product Manager, Program Manager and other stakeholders to deliver high quality product.
• Implement automated test cases to support code and project requirements for use with our Continuous Integration (CI) pipeline.
• Become fiercely Agile, using Scrum to deliver features to production.
• Apply your technical expertise to guide the team in making intelligent and pragmatic design decisions.
• Nurture highly effective relationships with internal business partners such as product management, technical teams, systems operations, and service and support.
• Help identify and develop ways to improve our team's efficiency by expanding on our existing tools and processes.
• Support production issues, includes independently completing root-cause analysis and diagnosis.
• Lead/conduct detailed code-reviews and provides feedback in a constructive manner.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns as they develop their application development skills.
• Take lead on projects with little to no additional direction from engineering/product leadership, drive and help track them to completion.

Qualifications:

• 12+ yearsof software development experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on design & development experience with proficiency in at least one of the languages such asJava, Node.js, Python.
• 6+ years of experience building and delivering production quality, scalable, secure, software systems.
• 6+ years of experience inAgile practices.
• Knowledge and experience with one or more AppSec technologies suchas SAST, DAST, IAST and Container Security.
• Knowledge ofOWASP top-10and a deep understanding of web application and mobile app vulnerabilities.
• Strong foundational knowledge in object-oriented design principles,data structures, SQL & NoSQL.
• Experience with web technologies such asHTML, JavaScript, AngularJS, ReactJS, CSS.
• Working knowledge ofLinux, Git, Docker, JUnit, Maven.
• Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, software design andRESTful APIs.
• Experience withContainers (Docker).
• Authority in writing Unit Test cases, Functional test cases and meeting Non-Functional requirements like application security, availability and performance.
• Strong debugging skills.
• A sense of ownership and a passion for delighting customers through innovation and creative solutions to sophisticated problems.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively connect with both business and technical teams.

Nice to Have:

• Experience developing inGCP or AWS.
• Experience in and/or passion forProduct Security.
