Job Description Summary:
Lead Technology Analyst will manage automation & data science projects and strategies end to end. Role will be a critical driver of customer and investigator focused projects and analytical automation initiatives.

Position Summary:The Global Financial Crimes and Customer Protection organization is seeking a highly talented, self-motivated individual to ensure the success of critical GFCCP automation initiatives and enhancements, and to facilitate alignment and coordination across the various teams within GFCCP and product development organization. Automation Lead Technology Analyst will report directly to the Program Manager of GFCCP Tools and Technology Enablement.

The successful candidate will drive and coordinate the successful development and implementation of automation solutions across data science and the broader program. The primary focus of the role is enabling automation between the many elements of PayPal's dynamic eco system.

The individual will gain full understanding of PayPal's service offerings to effectively enable data, system and tool automation. A successful candidate will be able to manage projects, work with cross functional teams, and have superior scheduling and planning skills. Attention to detail, good communication skills, analytical and abstract thinking and time management skills are critical.

Beyond supporting the activities associated with the Software Development Life Cycle, the individual will support various technology related projects. They will develop relationships across multiple domains and partners, drive initiatives, track adherence to the timelines and priorities and be an active and engaging partner both for business and technology contacts.

This role requires a self-starter with the ability to independently operate with a sense of urgency while managing multiple competing priorities in a deadline driven environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Drive and manage data science initiatives end to end.
  • Key project coordination point of contact for analytical teams and active participant in all meetings and technology working sessions
  • Identify and escalate issues to GFCCP technology oversight leaders.
  • Coordinate and participate in requirement gathering on new initiatives/ enhancements, ensure that clear and precise business requirements are delivered to technical partners
  • Gain full understanding of tool functionalities and processes across GFCCP to effectively address escalations and to fully support the team when breakdowns occur

Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:
  • BS/BA degree required.
  • Knowledge and prior experience with supporting technology initiatives
  • End-to-end project management and reporting to senior leaders
  • Have advanced presentation and public speaking skills
  • Experience with Agile software development methodology a plus
  • Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML laws, regulations surrounding money service businesses, industry guidance and best practices is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Must possess strong verbal, written, presentation, and other communication skills: Communication at all levels is crucial in this role, including the ability to communicate complex and technical matters in simple terms to management, the ability to communicate in more technical terms with development teams to ensure full understanding of business requirements and project expectations.
  • Organizational skills and time management skills to keep projects on track till completion.
  • Project managing skills to start projects and finish projects successfully
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to evaluate metrics for informed decision making.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and excel in a fast-paced and dynamic financial services environment
  • Skill in focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, clarifying next steps effectively to meet deadlines and achieve desired results
  • Able to maintain composure under pressure and make sound decisions
  • Must display a high level of professional judgment, commitment, integrity, teamwork, and customer service
  • Must be passionate about developing and maintaining clear and sustainable processes supporting technology project developments and related coordination
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence teams
