The Life Science Lab Coordinator is responsible to the -Assistant Dean for Visual and Performing Arts Education and Sciences. The essential duty of this position is to prepare all of the biology lab course activities in accordance with the faculty requests and course curriculum, in addition to providing a quality and safe lab environment for students.

Responsibilities

Maintain and assist in the basic repair of lab equipment.

Provide preparation for all biology lab activities, coordinating materials to meet faculty requests.

Organize, inventory and assist in the ordering of lab supplies and equipment for all biology lab-related areas, which includes following bid request and selection procedures.

Maintain lab areas in a clean and safe manner.

Manage the overall organization of each lab and prep area, including labs at extension campuses.

Provide training and supervision of lab assistants.

Attend departmental budget, schedule, and orientation meetings.

Coordinate lab activities and the use of lab equipment with all biology adjunct faculty.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in biology.

Two years of related experience and familiarity with lab equipment and introductory techniques of biology required.

Able to work independently and follow directions.

Flexibility in scheduling of work hours required.Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Ability to travel to and from all campuses.
