Alliant Energy is currently recruiting for a Journey Level Line Technician in Stoughton, WI. Our crews play a meaningful role in providing consistent, reliable service to homes and businesses within our territory.

Our crews are made up of expert leads, journey level and apprentices, are supported by strong leadership and have a trusted commitment to safety and ethics. We have a dedicated safety team that supports our crews and each employee is provided training and development to succeed, empowering them to grow and advance. You will work with our team to do new construction, maintain existing facilities and respond to outages.

Additional Details:

• The core schedule for this position is Monday- Friday 7:00am- 4:30pm
• This position is responsible for taking after-hours emergency calls, responding to outages and trouble calls on the distribution system and customer services.
• This position has a residency requirement of 25 minutes from headquarters.

Job Qualifications
Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver\u0027s License.
• Completed a certified Line Technician Apprenticeship program (Journey Level) - required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Good reading comprehension, mathematics skills.
• Demonstrated ability to do ordinary line construction, operating and maintenance work, line trouble shooting and transformer installation including three-phase and parallel banking.
• Reasonable knowledge of work order procedure and allocation of charges.
• Knowledge of the requirements of the State Electrical Code and company standards for line construction.
• Familiarity with live line maintenance tools and their use.
• Thorough knowledge of the Company Safety Rules and Operating Practices relating to line construction and maintenance.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely, make understandable diagrams, ability to express oneself verbally.
• The ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
• Sensitivity to public opinion and property owner\u0027s rights.
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group.

*Note: This job is covered by the Department of Transportation regulations on drug and alcohol testing (CFR 49, Parts 40 and 199), and is subject to drug testing according to said regulations.
