Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adherence to all company health and safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Pull specified inventoried materials listed on the job paperwork or from the direction of the Group Leader.
  • Cut steel utilizing saw.
  • Responsible for machine set ups and operations to meet the production demands.
  • Follow direction of the Group Leader and to assist in the loading and unloading of transfer trucks as needed.
  • Maintain general work area keeping the equipment and area clean and free of excess debris daily.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance on departmental equipment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have basic blueprint reading skills.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Experience with band saws.
  • Able to use basic hand tools including grinders.
  • Handle materials with forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.
  • Climb portable ladders.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as required.
  • Able to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout shift.
  • Able to wear hearing protectors (ear plugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levels.
