We are seeking a Delivery Director with expertise in mainframe, legacy modernization and Amazon Web Services (AWS) architectures to join our Global Technology team and guide our clients through the modernization of their legacy systems. Your strategic vision, technical prowess, and leadership skills will drive the success of our consulting practice in modernizing mainframe workloads onto AWS.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for mainframe modernization consulting services on AWS, aligning with market trends, client needs, and AWS offerings.
- Work across Slalom markets and technology teams to mentor consultants, architects, and engineers specializing on AWS, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor on mainframe modernization strategies and AWS solutions, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Oversee the successful delivery of mainframe modernization projects on AWS, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Be a learner of the latest AWS services and best practices for mainframe modernization, providing technical guidance and thought leadership to both internal teams and clients.
- Collaborate closely with AWS partners, sales teams, and product development to enhance our mainframe modernization offerings and drive business growth.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and AWS announcements related to mainframe modernization, adapting strategies and offerings accordingly.
- Support the sales process with our clients and bringing your thought leadership in building and estimating the solutions to be delivered.
- Deliver on strategic billable client projects meeting a 40% utilization target.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience working with and modernizing legacy systems.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mainframe modernization consulting or related field, with a strong emphasis on AWS cloud technologies.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of mainframe technologies, legacy systems, and modernization techniques, coupled with hands-on experience in deploying mainframe workloads on AWS.
- Proficiency in AWS services relevant to mainframe modernization, such as AWS Mainframe Modernization, AWS Migration Services, and AWS Partner Network (APN) offerings.
- Experience and proficiency using at least one automated refactoring toolkit - BluAge skills preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute plans to drive growth and profitability in a consulting practice.
- AWS certifications preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.

Compensation and Benefits Slalom prides itself on helping team members thrive in their work and life. Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $161,000 -$307,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
