Job Description Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician reports to the Assistant Facilities Manager or Facilities Manager and works closely with the Facilities Manager, Space & Occupancy team, Building Engineers, other Facilities Technicians, and Workplace Support team in carrying out his or her assigned responsibilities. This role includes a combination of facilities maintenance and modular furniture installation duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be familiar with Cushman & Wakefield policies and procedures and client policies and procedures as they relate to your position and job description.
  • Be familiar with the layout of the facilities, location of storage rooms, shops, major conference rooms, labs, and offsite storage.
  • Check CMMS program frequently for assigned work requests. Close requests as work is completed. Address work requests as assigned on a timely basis, completing requests within the assigned SLA (service level agreement).
  • Know your assigned procedures for various emergency situations and respond accordingly should they occur.
  • Inspect site for general cleanliness and neatness, stains on carpet, marks on walls and doors needing paint touch-up, damaged or marked base vinyl, damaged or stained ceiling tiles, bent or broken window blinds, etc.
  • Set up of large and small events.
  • Always respond in a professional and courteous manner in carrying out your assigned duties.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, and monthly safety meetings. Observe safety procedures. Plan and carry out work in a manner that ensures an accident-free safety record.
  • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and can paint walls, piping, floors and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities.
  • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance.
  • Ability to use technology such as; smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.
  • Complete all required C&W Safety Training as scheduled annually.
  • Comply with C&W Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours.
  • Install furniture according to blueprints or job tickets.
  • Mount cabinets and bookshelves.
  • Assemble furniture as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace.

IMPORTANT EDUCATION
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
• 1+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting preferred
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks
• Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word
• Modular Furniture installation experience

May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or stand-by on-call duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Regularly required to travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices
• Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work

The compensation for the position is: $23.00 - $23.00
