Shriver Job Corps Center is looking for a Maintenance Helper who is hands-on, skilled in fixing things, and has a keen eye for ensuring that facilities run smoothly. This role is critical to the success of our students and we need a diligent and motivated individual to join our dynamic team. As a Maintenance Helper, you will be responsible for maintaining and keeping our facilities safe and functional. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about contributing to the upkeep of our facilities and creating a conducive environment for the success of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Facility Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment. This includes tasks such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs to ensure a safe and functional facility.
  • Equipment Repair: Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions. Perform routine maintenance to prolong the lifespan and efficiency of equipment.
  • Groundskeeping: Contribute to the upkeep of outdoor spaces, including landscaping, lawn maintenance, and snow removal, to create a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols in all maintenance activities. Report any safety hazards or issues promptly and collaborate with the team to implement corrective measures.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and support the overall functioning of the center. Participate in meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer previous experience working with youth. Must possess and maintain a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
