Reconditioning (RECO) is a division of Mauser Packaging Solutions.

The RECO Accounting Manager, reports to the Segment Controller and will be a key member of the RECO Accounting team and work in collaboration with the Plant Managers, Global Controller accounting team and NAIP finance team. Candidate must be a self-starter, adept at communicating with multiple levels of an organization, and have the ability to build trust, influence, and work with teams cross functionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Review JEs for monthly accruals, reclass, prepaid JEs, ensure JEs are prepared properly and timely by team.
  • Analyze BS & PL GL activity and research variances.
  • Prepare and coordinate monthly balance sheet review.
  • Effectively communicate to senior leaders.
  • Identify areas to streamline and standardize; efficiently use offshore shared services model.
  • Ensure all materials prepared timely for external and internal audits.
  • Build strong relationships with key finance and accounting leaders; Partner with operations to support issues that impact RECO.
  • Establish, communicate, and track RECO monthly closing calendar.
  • Coordinate with offshore resources to record journal entries and prepare reconciliations.
  • Ability to dive into data, analyze and formulate solutions.
  • Support inter/intra company reconciliations.
  • Liaise with FP&A, finance team members and plant accountants.
  • Identify and elevate accounting issues to Asst. Controller ensure SEC and US GAAP compliance.
  • Coordinate and track monthly close process with accounting team, accounting managers, accounts payable, cash applications, and accounts receivable.
  • Track and report progress of assigned projects.
  • Lead effective communication, coordination, and cooperation amongst the project team and between other company functions or business unit leaders.
  • Build and develop relationships with key stakeholders across the company.
  • Communicate and work closely with FP&A for plant close functions and P&L adjustments.
  • Prepare and explain detailed general ledger reports to various departments.
  • Review, communicate, and resolve with accounts payable team identified discrepancies within unvouchered payables.
  • Monitor and oversee sales tax filings and remittance while continuing to communicate and resolve with internal and external tax groups.
  • Manage and review property tax filings prepared by staff and ensure accruals and remittance amounts are accurate and timely.
  • Support team in problem solving unique plant inquiries and issues.
  • Monitor, identify, and problem solve system issues monthly.
  • Work with IT on a regular basis to request and implement improvements to ERP.
  • Drive team to continuous improvement and development.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA preferred
  • Experience with reviewing accrual, reclass & prepaid JEs, analyzing BS & P&L, consolidations
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, including managing month end close, reviewing account reconciliations, audit liaison, project mgmt, M&A, experience working with outsourcing a plus
  • Multi-tasking/Ability to prioritize assignments
  • Demonstrated competence in identifying and implementing process improvement
  • Experience managing and developing a team
  • Comfortable working in a Fast-Paced Environment
  • Strong Excel skills a must
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Dispute resolution
  • Team player is a must with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
