Job Summary

The Manager, IT Program Management will be responsible for the oversight and management of large-scale, highly complex and priority programs, ensuring the successful execution from initiation to completion for the IT department and F&G. The position will have responsibility to develop, implement, monitor and report on assigned programs ensuring program goals and deliverables are met and requires a results-oriented leadership style and mindset.

The Program Manager will report to the VP, IT Portfolio Management within F&G's IT Transformation team,

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex programs and projects from initiation to successful completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement program strategies, goals, and objectives in alignment with the organization's overall vision and mission.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables, and effectively communicate these to the project team.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges, and proactively develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration and communication, ensuring effective coordination among team members and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on program progress, providing regular updates to executive management and stakeholders.
  • Assess program performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build and lead high-performing project teams, providing guidance, support, and coaching to team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Engage in resource planning and allocation, ensuring optimal utilization of resources throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and trends, applying relevant methodologies and approaches to improve program management processes.
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in program management, with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering large, complex initiatives in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP), are highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a Program Management Office environment.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive consensus among diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management, identifying potential issues, and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Strong experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure project success.
  • Experience in process improvement and implementing best practices to enhance program management efficiency.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the life insurance and annuities business, including product development, sales, distribution, and operations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams towards achieving project goals.
  • Strong strategic planning and decision-making abilities to align program objectives with the organization's overall vision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and maintain clear and open lines of communication.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Advanced project management skills, including project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management capabilities to ensure cost-effective program execution.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in risk management and the ability to foresee potential issues and implement proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, be resilient, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to handle diverse viewpoints and reach consensus.
  • Proficiency in using project management tools and software to track progress and maintain project documentation
