Description:
The Manager of Development (Development Officer) of Corporate Philanthropy and Grants is responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects/donors and developing all aspects of a comprehensive and on-going development program with an emphasis on cultivation and solicitation strategies for major gifts, annual giving, capital campaigns, and donor stewardship programs. This position requires a significant level of personal involvement and commitment to establishing and maintaining professional relationships with the Health System's donors, grateful patients, executives, clinicians, board members and community leaders. Assist in the planning, organizing and implementation of projects and events as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gift donors and prospects including individuals, corporations, and/or foundations, through visits and other forms of direct personal contact in accordance with performance targets set in collaboration with the Director and Vice President of Development.
  • Responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive Corporate Philanthropy Partners program.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting grant proposals and grant reports in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with Trinity Health, development colleagues, and appropriate board members and/or other constituents to maximize Holy Cross Health philanthropy revenue.
  • Makes effective use of the prospect management database and other institutional resources to ensure appropriate management of donors, prospects, and volunteers in coordination with Holy Cross Health and Trinity Health objectives.
  • Conducts research to identify prospects, with an emphasis on major gifts and creates strategies to match prospects' interests to the fundraising priorities.
  • Researches, writes, edits, and/or oversees the preparation of persuasive, accurate, and grammatically correct solicitations, proposals, case statements, reports, correspondence, and other development-related communication materials in support of fundraising activities.
  • Collaborates on the creation of all stewardship/recognition initiatives including the philanthropy annual report.
  • Manages and executes all aspects of annual fundraising and stewardship events.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
