JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the quality of company product and for ensuring the quality management system is maintained and improved. Oversee the QA team through training, planning, assigning, completing performance appraisals, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Oversees the inspection of all jobs in production and ensures work is being completed per companyQuality Policy and Procedures.-Leads and manages quality improvement initiatives supporting business goals.-Assures the organizations processes and procedures are aligned with ISO 9001 certificationsrequirements.-Assists, facilitates, trains, and mentors teams focusing on improving the quality of our products.-Leads organizational efforts in root cause analysis, and corrective and preventative actions.-Reviews customer c oncerns and recommends corrective action to the Management Team.-Communicates problems or concerns to the General Manager.-Attends a weekly production scheduling meeting with the master Scheduler, Department Leads, andManagers to ensure company goals are being achieved.-Promotes safe work habits in the shop.- Understanding of state's licensing and inspection requirements/ensuring compliance to state codes.

PROFILE LEVEL DESCRIPTION

-Manages professional employees and/or supervisors; may manage technical/business support orproduction/operation staff.-Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers.-Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.-Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans.-Has wide scope for decision making.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides formal supervision to professional employees and/or supervisors. Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree required. Degree in Electrical or Quality Engineering preferred . 5 to 7 years of experience required. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory experience, especially in a quality or manufacturing environment. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Thorough knowledge of being data driven/analytical , as well as ISO 9001 standard Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills Some travel required to other AZZ facilities and/or customer sites Understanding of Six Sigma methodology with ability to facilitate projects Preferred Knowledge of electrical and mechanical codes as it pertains to state building code requirements
