SUMMARY
Working independently, the Sales & Use Tax Manager will work with department leadership to ensure compliance of all aspects of sales and use tax compliance. Position will assist Tax Director in all aspects of sales & use tax compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Manage timely delivery of all sales tax compliance functions
- Review sales tax returns prepared by other members of the sales tax compliance team for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate all EFT registrations and payments
- Coordinate and file the EDI and Internet returns
- Assist with compiling and formatting the data required each month for completing the sales & use tax returns
- Assist with sales and use tax-closing procedures
- Actively document and review sales and use tax compliance processes
- Provide process improvement recommendations and execute all necessary process improvements as approved by the leadership team
- Research and correspond on sales & use tax notices
- Complete resale certificates for vendors
- Reconcile sales & use tax accounts
- Assist with sales tax audit preparations
- Research the various states sales & use tax issues
- Direct supervision of 6 Tax Department employees

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
- Bachelor's degree required
- Emphasis in accounting, finance or related field preferred
- CPA preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of sales and use tax experience required
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Previous experience in performing tax research and technical tax return review is required
- Previous experience working with sales and use tax preparation software (OneSource) is strongly preferred
- Experience in training and supervising staff and seniors
