Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with a high-level independence, developing plans and related processes with department leader in alignment with broader business objectives.

As the Manager, Social Media, you will report to the Director of Brand Management. You will be responsible for the daily management of social, reputation and brand engagement programs for the corporate and talent acquisition social channels (including, but not limited to, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Glassdoor) within the Marriott Vacations Worldwide organization. In alignment with strategies defined by the Director of Brand Marketing you will partner broadly across the company to execute the foundational capabilities and tools to power premier, award-winning social media, and brand engagement campaigns.

General Expected Contributions

  • Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.
  • Responds to, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk.
  • Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.
  • Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:
    • identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.
    • providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution.
    • participating in setting department operating plans.
    • recognizing and celebrating team successes.
    • achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate.
Specific Expected Contributions
  • 70% of time will be allocated to supporting HR recruitment and corporate marketing:
    • Develops a comprehensive social marketing plan in partnership with internal teams and outside resources to drive awareness, increase engagement, and grow traffic to career and corporate websites and other pre-determined CTAs.
    • Ensures corporate and talent acquisition programs include a cohesive social media strategy amplified across channels.
    • Accountable for providing comprehensive social media services inclusive of content review and creation, UGC content curation, advertising, reputation management and community building.
    • Act as the main point of contact for recruiters to ensure talent acquisition deliverables are met and tactics are executed on time.
    • Ensures company values and culture are represented and promoted consistently and on-brand
    • Provides day-to-day management of corporate and talent acquisition social media profiles, including managing editorial calendar and approval processes, monitoring engagements, oversight of paid social media campaigns, reporting on social media metrics and continuous optimization/improvements.
    • Manages outside resources as needed to deliver social strategies and assets.
    • Creates and optimizes channel growth strategies.
  • 30% of time will be allocated to supporting Public Relations efforts and campaigns:
    • Develops opportunities to elevate Executive exposure through thought leadership posts and programing.
    • Promotes brand campaigns, resort openings and other initiatives as needed.
    • Promotes quarterly earnings reporting and other investor relations content as appropriate across corporate channels.
  • Partner with Insights team to measure the overall performance of social and brand engagement channels, articulating the business' critical metrics and the impact of social media marketing and engagement.
  • Assists with content seeding efforts.
  • Verifies adherence to Corporate Advertising and Marketing Communications standards, brand standards, and format guidelines.
  • Attends and reviews internal training materials as needed.
  • Keeps apprised of all relevant industry and market developments.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.
  • Maintains positive working relations with vendors, brand stakeholders, and internal customers/teams.
  • Provides feedback to continually improve work processes and systems that support program execution.
  • Attends training and conferences to increase subject matter expertise and deepen skills;
  • Actively seeks out opportunities to learn more about the digital and brand marketing industries.
  • Manages time effectively and presents ideas, and information in a timely, concise, organized manner.
  • Responds to ad-hoc requests.
Candidate Profile
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, communications, marketing, hospitality management or related field required
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in social media, community, and/or interactive marketing
  • Experience with social media recruitment strategies
  • Experience integrating PR initiatives with social media marketing
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing for social networking functions
  • Experience with managing and coordinating outside resources and vendors
  • Expertise in writing social media copy
  • Photoshop experience a plus
  • A passion for social media marketing and other inbound marketing strategies.
  • Experience with social media management tools (i.e., Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Facebook Business Manager, Facebook Ads Manager, etc.)
  • Previous Hospitality Industry experience a plus
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple takes and priorities within specified timeframes
  • Proven ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and execute against those recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong project management skills which include a sense of urgency and attention to detail to ensure operational aspects of communications runs smoothly
  • Proven interpersonal skills with an ability to work with people at many levels and establish the trust necessary to influence and drive business decision
