Position Summary:

The Solutions Manager leads a team of technology professionals in planning, deployment, engineering, and support crossing multiple business areas including Parts, Service, Collision, Auctions, Sales & Payment Systems. The day- to-day responsibilities in this role include personnel management of a team of solutions engineers, properly resourcing projects, and day-to-day support, ensuring that the team is optimally staffed and performing efficiently. This role interfaces with Business Partners & IT team leads to understand project requirements, assigns resources and ensures that team resources assigned are delivering requirements and scheduled work is being met.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads team on solution design, deployment, engineering, and support.
  • Interacts frequently with business partners to project plan and provide technology solutions; develops strong relationships with business partners and staff to implement solutions.
  • Partners on an ongoing basis with key business users to consult and understand their changing needs and factors them into project plans for solution design and development.
  • Works with project managers to support the creation, maintenance and execution of project plans, work breakdown structures, and schedules. Ensure correct resource assignments commensurate with the priority and complexity of project tasks.
  • Defines annual team goals and objectives that align with senior management objectives.
  • Influences, motivates, and provides team opportunities to engineer and transform ideas into technology solutions.
  • Sets SLAs for support requests, delegates support tickets in queue to team members, and monitors support queue to ensure defined SLAs are met.
  • Ensures approved business partner and field requests are staffed accordingly and are managed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures redundancy through cross training in all areas of team responsibility.
  • Provides training, coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members to achieve results.
  • Maintains an awareness of best practices in the technology industry and implements as appropriate in technical/functional area.
  • Performs other job-related functions assigned by management.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Interaction with all levels within AutoNation
  • Interaction across internal business units, external vendors, stakeholders, and subject matter experts

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Information Technology or related field of study or any equivalent combination of relevant background, skills, and experience
  • 8 years of experience in a related lead or management role
  • Solution engineering process and methods experience
  • General knowledge across areas within Technology, have knowledge and experience with systems, hardware, software & web applications.
  • Remote software installation experience
  • Proficient with MS applications Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio
  • Ability to prepare system and process diagrams and roadmaps.
  • Proven track record at managing teams, setting, and achieving objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute projects alongside a project manager and PM framework.

Preferred:

  • Automotive industry experience
  • Dealership business operational knowledge is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required if needed (10%)
  • Occasional long hours
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
