The Manager of Supply Chain Process Consulting is responsible for the rollout of a new TMC consulting service which is designed to review and assess supply chain processes within Customer supply chain nodes - including manufacturing and warehousing sites. The intent of the consulting service is to identify waste and improvement opportunities within various supply chain functions, document current state process flows through direct observation and operator interviews, validate TMS compliance and conduct training where appropriate. The desired output of the supply chain on-site consulting program is to create a roadmap which prioritizes cost reduction, service improvements, increased efficiency and/or automation of manual business processes, and improved TMS compliance.

The Manager of Supply Chain Process Consulting is responsible for directly leading and facilitating pre-existing consulting assessment engagements, while also creating a standardized and repeatable process which can be deployed as a stand-alone consulting service to any Customer globally. In addition, this role will be responsible for directly leading the supporting team of resources as this service grows and scales.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly lead and manage a global consulting program which is responsible for assessing Customer supply chain nodes to identify waste and opportunities to improve cost and service.

  • The assessment process will include documentation of current state, identification of opportunities, assessment of prioritization/impact, development of an improvement roadmap and executive report-outs.

  • Lead the facilitation of Customer on-site assessments, which may include manufacturing, assembly, warehousing, crossdocking, and supplier locations.

  • Operate a standardized assessment process which identifies and evaluates opportunities.

  • Align and communicate with Customer leadership during all stages of an assessment project: during the planning stages, real time while the assessments are in process and for executive report-out.

  • Ensure a seamless handoff from consulting assessments to operations or project management teams.

  • Understand key supply chain processes such as S&OP, demand management, procurement, forecasting, scheduling, inventory, manufacturing, warehouse management and continuous improvement methodology such as lean/six sigma.

  • Collaborate with internal TMC supply chain services, customer success and business development teams.

  • Responsible to develop, refine and grow this service across TMC's Customer base and across the globe.

  • Lead, coach, and mentor TMC team personnel.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a customer facing role in supply chain/manufacturing/transportation industries

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience leading & developing a team

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

  • Advanced facilitation, communication and presentation skills are required

  • Ability to work flexible hours (some weekend/late hours will be required)

  • Ability to travel up to 50% (domestically and internationally)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior consulting experience in supply chain/manufacturing/transportation highly desired

  • Extensive experience with lean methods and tools - such as waste identification, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, kaizen, 5S, visual management, standardized work, etc - is highly desired

  • Onsite experience within a manufacturing or warehousing environment highly desired

  • Transportation optimization and cost reduction experience is highly desired

  • Deep analytical experience with a proven ability to quantify the value of an opportunity highly desired

  • Prior people management experience preferred

  • Ability to organize, design, develop, deliver, and present projects for audiences at all levels

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts internally and externally at all levels

  • Experience and comfort in dealing with ambiguity, proven ability to work with minimal guidance, and take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances

  • Outstanding ability to manage relationships and balance Customer, project, organization, and team needs to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external Customer expectations

  • Global experience working with Customers in multiple regions of the world

  • Collaborative and adaptive leadership style required to be successful in this role, as you will be interacting with a range of Customers from the operations floor to the executive boardroom

  • Strong relationship building skills with different cultures across the world

  • Ability to understand and document Customer's global supply chain processes

  • Advanced proficiency in all Microsoft applications
