Overview
AmTrust is searching for an experienced and knowledgeable Renewal Underwriting Manager to manage and lead the West Region Core renewal underwriting team. This position will lead and train the renewal underwriters to ensure integrity of underwriting activities and processes and work with management to identify opportunities for improvement in the renewal process.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor pricing targets, renewal retention targets and profitability targets.
- Guide team on risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
- Provide support and coaching to underwriters and provide team leadership.
- Monitor underwriting decisions through regular audits and referrals and address issues as appropriate individually or through group training.
- Collaborate with management and Line of Business representatives on referrals.
- Report on status of renewal issuance to management.
- Participate in management calls and special projects to contribute ideas for improvement of the company renewal process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in commercial lines insurance.
- Expert knowledge ISO rules and classifications.
- Expert knowledge of BOP, Commercial Package, Umbrella, Inland Marine and Commercial Auto lines of business.
- Analytical and risk assessment ability.
