Join the Materion Team as a Manufacturing Coating Technician producing optical filters essential in the fight to defeat COVID-19. Optical filters are a key component in the early detection of the COVID-19 virus. The Manufacturing Coating Technician adapts to competing priorities, operates both independently and within a team environment and will function in a fast-paced environment.

YOU WILL:

• Apply your skills to operate Coating Chambers with precisely defined configuration
• Capture and analyze data, including yield trends, and deviations to uphold quality standards
• Collaborate with the Process Engineers to continuously improve processes
• Contribute to the maintenance of procedural documentation
• Maintain equipment to assure peak performance
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Machinist or machine operating experience
• Strong computer skills
• Optics manufacturing environment experience preferred
• Photolithography experience preferred
• Clean room experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to work out of Westford, MA site and Tyngsboro, MA site
  

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Since Materion Precision Optics and Thin Film Coatings is a Department of Defense cleared facility, the candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. National, or a Lawful Permanent Resident of the U.S. (also, called a green card holder).
