Title: Manufacturing Manager

Position: Exempt

Location: Ansonia, CT

Manager: No

Reports to: Plant Manager


The Production Manager will oversee all job functions performed in the warehouse, shipping/receiving, and production areas. This position will be responsible for production planning and production results to meet customer requirements. The production manager will ensure the workforce is adequately trained and engaged in company goals as well as initiate continuous improvement projects to improve productivity and/or reduce costs.


  • Ensure all Safety rules and procedures are followed in the facility and ensure active safety teams and culture exist
  • Oversee all job functions performed in warehouse, shipping/receiving, and production
  • Set manning levels per work standards
  • Enforcement of company rules, regulations and policies
  • Ensure all job set up and work flows meet safety, manning and production requirements.
  • Meet customer quality and delivery requirements
  • Provide input as needed to update planning, work instructions or system procedures.
  • Provide participation in interviewing, selecting, and training of new hires.
  • Conducts the evaluation of warehouse and production workers and makes recommendations regarding pay raises and/or promotions
  • Strive to continuously improve operations


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience in application of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Goal oriented team player
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Effective communicator with all levels of organizations and types of customers
  • Action oriented with ability to act independently, analyze a situation, recommend ideas and build consensus for solutions
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Self-starter, high level of initiative


  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to lift 55-60 lbs. at continuous intervals throughout the day
  • Must be able to pull finished products and 350 lbs. gaylords of material
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to operate necessary equipment to do the job
  • Requires frequent bending, squatting and twisting motions


The work environment is usually in an office within a manufacturing facility with low to moderate noise level.
