Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is looking for a creative and energetic team member to join the marketing and communication team in our environmental consultancy business. The selected Marketing and Communications Lead candidate will be responsible for assisting with marketing initiatives designed to position our brand and broaden the understanding of solutions we offer across a range of sectors and geographies to promote future strategic growth. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and has excellent writing skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identifies and develops compelling, relevant stories from around the business consistently
  • Acutely understands the relevant business sectors and can create crisp content marketing material and establish opportunities to position Wood and its leaders as an authoritative commentator
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to influence the planning, design and delivery of market and communications content that is both fit for purpose and inspiring
  • Supports the delivery of impactful, internal marketing and internal communications campaigns that drive employee engagement, customer value, leadership engagement and stakeholder understanding
  • Delivers key marketing projects and events with creativity, precision and measurable results
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance Wood's regional reputation through positive coverage in selected traditional as well as digital and social media
  • Works as part of a global marcomms function ensuring alignment, efficiency and innovation of channels and messaging


Skills / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • University degree or equivalent in a marketing, communications or related field

Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a communications and / or marketing role, preferably within the consulting industry but not critical; associated experience in agency, journalism, copy writing deemed equivalent
  • Knowledge of communication and marketing methods and channels relevant to a large, complex organization, with demonstrable experience using a multi-channel strategy including but not limited to management of print, online, apps, email, media, social media, webinars, blogs, events, and speaking engagements
  • Knowledge of market and industry issues and trends
  • Content development, creative writing, concept development, proofreading and editing capability, and examples of published work
  • Experience in campaign delivery and measurement
  • Skills in research, data gathering and analysis
  • Event planning and delivery
