Marketing Communications Lead

Must have: A minimum 5 years of professional marketing communications experience in the agricultural field. This would include plant health, farming, crops, planting, cultivation, harvesting, seeds/soil, fruits/vegetables, pesticides, agronomy, nursery activities.

SUMMARY:

This position offers the opportunity to build off of existing marketing communications skills with a focus on managing business-to-business marketing projects including: educational webinars, technical sales tools, traditional and digital advertising (including social media), tradeshows and more. A successful candidate will have experience in the areas of graphic design and a general understanding of how various marketing tactics fit into an overall marketing strategy along with how to measure those tactics. This position will report to the Senior Strategic Marketing Communications Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1.Educational & Technical Tools: ~30% of time

a.Manage ongoing webinars (approximately 2 per month) including the submission of CEU credits, coordinating speakers, editing presentation deck, promotion of webinar to ensure strong attendance, execution and follow up.

b.Manage the creation or updates of sales collateral and IPM guides (approximately 2 per month) including content, layout, technical data accuracy, review, publishing and promoting.

c.Assist Strategic Marketing Communications Manager with the development and execution of videos and other educational digital content.

d.Measurement: Capture number of those registered and attended live for each webinar & report monthly; Track effectiveness of webinar leads in CRM over time (bi-annually) with the help of CRM manager; Measure distribution/downloads of collateral material by creating a lead generation tool and report monthly; Track effectiveness of collateral download leads in CRM over time (bi-annually) with the help of CRM manager.

2.Social Media: ~20% of time

a.Develop strategy, create and schedule a variety of posts no less than two times per week

b.Work with sales and technical staff to create more interactive social media posts, capture field pictures or videos and highlight customers/success stories

c.Measurement: Monitor and report social media analytics monthly

3.Advertising (Traditional & Digital): ~20% of time

a.Manage media buy and ad placement in both print and digital formats

b.Develop/design, edit or manage graphic designer to update ads

c.Messaging: Ensure all ads follow key talking points for product or crop, developed by Senior Strategic Marketing Communications Manager & Senior Marketing Director.

d.Call-to-Action: Develop A/B testing to create strong call-to-action to better measure advertising efforts

e.Measurement: Track placement and impressions for each ad; capture click-through or QR Code scans, etc. to measure call-to-action effectiveness.

4.Tradeshows: ~20% of time

a.Manage tradeshow calendar and ensure sales staff is supported for tradeshows including securing a booth, providing tradeshow kits (banners/booth, collateral, booth furniture/literature stands, misc items, and promotional giveaways), managing logistics.

b.Messaging: Ensure all tradeshow banners/signage follow key talking points for company, product, or crop developed by Senior Strategic Marketing Communications Manager & Senior Marketing Director.

c.Promote each tradeshow via email marketing and/or social media.

d.Measurement: Track cost vs. leads generated, ensure leads are inputted into CRM and track effectiveness of tradeshow leads over time with the help of CRM manager.

5.Other: ~ 10% of time

a.Assist with other misc MarCom projects such as POP displays and signage for distributors/partners

b.Manage ordering of promotional items used at tradeshows and for customer gifts

c.Manage online print-on-demand service to ensure all updated collateral is accessible and sales managers are trained on how to use the service

d.Create and manage online promotional/branded clothing store (currently w/ LandsEnd)

e.Assist with gathering customer testimonials for each crop and product

f.Website: Make weekly updates, help write and edit webpages, help research and write blog posts

g.Email Marketing: Assist with creating, issuing and monitoring eBlasts

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

•Minimum bachelor degree, preferably in marketing, creative design or closely related field

•Valid Driver's License
