The following opportunity is with Layne Christensen Company, a Granite Company:

Founded over 130 years ago as a well drilling contractor, Layne is one of the largest, most experienced water service companies, serving hundreds of municipalities, industrial companies, agribusinesses, mining companies and the world. We supply well drilling and construction for dewatering wells, monitor well completions, environmental and geotechnical drilling, water well rehabilitation, pumping equipment sales and services, mineral exploration drilling, hydrologic investigations and water treatment technologies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs
  • Must be capable of working individually or with others
  • Perform regular maintenance on all types of equipment and keep records of repairs
  • Trouble-shoot equipment errors
  • May require some fabrication (drill press, milling machine, lathe, etc.)
  • May require out of town and/or out of state work
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Normal working hours are 7/4 with frequent overtime and some work on the weekends
Position Qualifications Requirements/Preferences
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience working on heavy equipment
  • Must have diesel mechanic experience
  • Must have mechanical clutch experience
  • Crane License preferred
  • Prior experience in the drilling industry preferred
  • Troubleshooting ability
  • Must have good communication skills: verbal and written
  • CDL license - a plus, but not required
  • Basic Computer knowledge preferred
