Mechanical CAD Designer

What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions is seeking to fill an open position for a Mechanical CAD Designer in our Facilities Engineering Solution Center.

Responsibilities include:

• Receives mark-ups of general intent of building HVAC and Piping systems from engineers.
• Works with minimal oversight to size and route mechanical equipment, duct, and piping systems and models systems into 3-D mechanical system models using the Revit modeling platform.
• Sets up and prepares building models and construction documents.
• Updates and adjusts drawings through feedback dialogue with other professionals and designers.
• Checks for conformance with drafting standards and best practices and then plots and assembles drawings for delivery to client.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Two-year degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, Surveying or equivalent education and experience.
• One year of experience drawing mechanical duct and/or piping systems.
• Knowledge of building modeling using CAD platforms such as Revit, Auto Cad, or Microstation.
• Willingness to learn the Revit modeling platform
• Willingness to learn mechanical codes and standards to facilitate design of pipe and duct systems.
