Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Utah is seeking applicants for the Mechanical/Civil Engineer position. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Engineering team and must be committed to excellence in everything we do with the departments on safety, quality, and capital improvement projects for the Division, including contractor oversight. The primary duties will be to plan, schedule, and implement the engineering, procurement, and construction of each project using outside contractors, engineering firms, and maintenance team to complete projects safely, on time, and within budget and will work collaboratively with the team to support our production and maintenance team and reach our goals.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Willing/able to navigate obstacles in a production environment such as stairs, heights, and tight spaces
• Willing/able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including weekends and holidays if production needs dictate

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineers License.
• Melting, casting, or long product rolling experience
• 1-2 years' experience with Industrial Projects and Processes
• Equipment upgrade, installation, and commissioning experience
• Prior leadership experience and contractor management
• Willingness to relocate for future advancement opportunities within Nucor
