Hiring rate of position: $18.778/per hour for PLMHP and $22.029/per hour for LMHP

Location of position: Norfolk Regional Center 1700 N. Victory Rd Norfolk, NE

Work schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. with possible weekend hours
Examples of Work
This position provides group therapy and individual therapy to sex offender patients. Group and individual therapy are the primary mode of treatment for this population. Assignments are given to patients in the sex offender groups and individual therapy to help measure and evaluate patients' progress in treatment. Patients have core assignments that the group therapist must approve prior to the patient being transferred to LRC or considered for discharge through the NRC Transitional Skill Building Program. The therapy staff create and approve other assignments to help the patients work on their risk factors for re-offending and other treatment problem areas. Patients complete focuses in group on issues that they are dealing with related to the dynamic risk factors for reoffending. Part of providing group and individual therapy consists of assisting patients to determine appropriate Patient Hour presentations. Both group and individual therapy require preparation and documentation of the patient progress. Therapists provide professional input into the Level Scoring, an evaluation tool, of individual sex offender patients to assess progress and areas that need to be addressed with individual patients. This position serves as Treatment Plan Coordinator (TPC) for four to six patients. The TPC takes lead in coordination and completion of the patient Treatment Plans. The position of LMHP helps provide direction for direct care staff with on-unit groups and is responsible for completing Drug and Alcohol Assessments that provide substance abuse treatment recommendations and Substance Use Disorder diagnosis.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner or possesses another license that allows the incumbent to provide the above mental health services as required by Statute 71-1314. Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Development, Psychology, Family Relations, Vocational Rehabilitation, Art Therapy, Divinity, Human Resources, Naturopathy, Mental Health or other field approved by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in order to become a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner AND 3000 hours of post-degree supervised counseling experience. Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation required Will consider Provisional Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP). Provisionally licensed will be hired as Mental Health Practitioner I until fully licensed. Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Development, Psychology, Family Relations, Vocational Rehabilitation, Art Therapy, Divinity, Human Resources, Naturopathy, Mental Health or other field related to and approved by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in order to become a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. Must possess a provisional license for mental health practice. OTHER: Incumbent must be actively pursuing licensure to become licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner within two years by providing mental health services under the direct clinical supervision of a LMHP or other qualified professional with at least one supervisory contact per week and performing 1500 hours of direct client contact and 1500 hours of case management work. Individuals who fail the test for licensure within the 2 year period will be allowed a maximum of six months to retake the test and become licensed as a LMHP. If the individual fails to become licensed within 6 months as notified by the facility, alternative employment at the facility may be sought. If no alternative employment is available at the facility, employment will be terminated.
