Job Description

This Customer Operations Manager is responsible for managing various aspects of sales and operational support for the Costco Commercial team. Ensuring both internal and external stakeholders are kept well informed to enable strong operational support for the Costco account. Managing data and reporting for rebates, credit reconciliations, promotional calendars, pricing and spec sheets are critical to seamless customer support. Providing coordination and assistance to the commercial team as well as becoming a Costco customer operations expert developing the ability to not only understanding the customer's needs, but anticipating them as well.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Manage quarterly rebate and volume incremental rebate payments
  • Manage, track and ensure compliance of weekly Costco credit reconciliation
  • Manage trade utilizing POS tracking and adherence of promotional contracts/agreements
  • Update and maintain Costco promo calendars and promotional pallet histories; coordinate and distribute relevant reports/information to internal stakeholders (e.g. finance, demand planning, supply chain, brand, customer sales strategy)
  • Maintain and update Costco pricing and spec sheets; ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Report monthly Costco category surveys
  • Manage and report promotional activity for new/discontinued competitive items
  • Maintain SharePoint DRS (display identification system) with promotional pallets for Costco
  • Partner with the commercial team to ensure timely/accurate input of base and promotional forecasting data
  • Monitor out-of-stock issues to ensure proactive notification to customer of supply issues
  • Assist/Coordinate the creation of commercial and/or sales programs
  • On-going sales support includes and is not limited to: tracking Costco Member product complaints in coordination with Consumer Affairs; manage return requests; handle sample requests


Job Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales administration/operations role for large commercial account(s)
  • Experience in consumer goods and/or sales is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills required (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required to ensure positive interactions with external customers and internal stakeholders (eg. Costco buyers; finance, demand planning, supply chain, brand, customer sales strategy)
  • Detail-oriented, extremely organized, and has the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage a large volume of data/projects/work with minimal direction
  • Must be a quick learner and self-motivated; with a strong desire to be part of commercial organization
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow through on projects and jobs
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a high performing team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Must have strong PC skills with the ability to work with various applications (ERP and databases) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
