Reporting to the shift supervisor or Lead Process Technician, the Injection Mold Setter installs mold tools into Injection Molding Machines and prepares them to run.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform job changeover by removing and storing tools and auxiliary equipment to prepare machines for next production run.
  • Remove molds from the machine and set the new molds safely using overhead cranes
  • Ensure that the correct mold and materials are being used
  • Make all necessary hydraulic, water and electrical connections
  • Communicate problems, needs and important information to supervisor
  • Fill in for Press Attendant as required
  • Other tasks/duties as assigned
  • Provide and implement ideas to improve the efficiency of the mold setting process and reduce down time
  • Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and understand work orders
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical ability
  • Ability to easily and comfortably use hand tools
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders frequently

Preferred Requirements
  • Previous experience working with molds (mold setting in a manufacturing environment)
  • Overhead Crane Operation
  • Forklift experience
  • Strong communication skills

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Manufacturing environment. Frequent stopping and bending. Regularly required to stand for long periods, climb up/down ladders and move about the facility. Physical ability to lift various items up to 70 lbs. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
