Job Description Summary:
PayPal's Global Risk Platform organization is looking for an experienced staff engineer to build the Fraud detection solution. We are looking for someone who is motivated, versatile, and hands-on as you are responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering state-of-the-art, highly scalable fraud detection, and management systems. Hands-on technology skills, a positive work ethic, and a collaborative mindset are the key to your success in this role. You will bemaking critical technology decisions,building & maintaining large production-grade distributed systems that handle petabyte-scale, working with our customers to resolve their day-to-day problems,andhelping mentor engineers. Experience or awareness of the payments industry is a big plus.

Job Description:

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering
• Design and Operational Experience with large scale production-grade distributed systems
• Experience in one or more of the following: Ruby, Java
• Good Linuxskills and understanding of operating systems
• Strong technical accomplishments in SQL
• Postgres, Redshift, Oracle, or similar data handling experience
• Practical skills with Cloud services (AWS or Google Cloud)
• Skilled at communicating and breaking down project goals for other team members to develop

Optional

• Server-side software development experience
• Deep understanding of AWS technologies
• Experience withDockerand Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools and best practices
