Job Description Summary:
As a Staff Software Engineer on the BrainTree Platform team, you will be responsible for design, architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable and available software which pivots the evolution of our current to the next generation platform for our PayPal Inc payments platform teams and transformational journey for payment services and engineering of PayPal Inc (PayPal, Braintree and so on...). You will be making key technology decisions, building & maintaining large production grade distributed systems that handle petabyte scale, providing delightful experience for PayPal and Braintree customers, merchants, brainstorming innovative ideas to help our stakeholders resolve their day-to-day problems, and helping mentor engineers.

Job Description:

  • Build innovative, self-serviceable and scalable platforms and orchestration services to facilitate payments pricing to its next leg in the multi-year journey of PayPal journey with its subsidiaries.
  • Anchor major team workstreams to build and improve large-scale distributed systems, grow the scale of our platform, reduce complexity, increase automation and burn down technical debt.
  • Develop solutions for PayPal, Braintree merchants and data analytics users' needs with an eye towards self-service products backed by efficient operations.
  • Mentor other software engineers as a tech lead of the team.
  • Induce best practices of coding, design and reusability. Effectively participate in code reviews.
  • Build key components of our platform via pair programming with other engineers.
  • Setup practicesto ensure the highest levels of operational resiliency.
  • Collaborate with leadership, peers and customers to effectively deliver solutions and projects.
  • Support production systems (Team rotation based).
