Position Description:
Excellent opportunity for an experienced software developer to support the development and maintenance of the Training Systems for the International Space Station (ISS) and the Exploration Program. Specifically, the position involves building simulations of the onboard systems of the ISS and other spacecraft, with the ultimate goal of supporting the training of astronauts and flight controllers. The position involves a mix of new software development and integration of existing software building blocks and tools to produce a working simulation of a spacecraft. This position may also involve the development and maintenance of software models to emulate the cameras onboard the ISS and Orion spacecraft.
Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of software development tasks such as:
- Developing new code
- Resolving issues in existing code
- Integrating software developed both locally and by external parties into a single software system
- Performing various levels of software testing
- Work to schedules and provide written and oral status of the work in progress
- Interface with his/her lead, other developers, and the NASA customer to accomplish the work
- Transfer knowledge gained and lessons learned to other team members
Qualifications
Work & Experience Requirements:
The candidate should have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

B.S. in Computer Science or similar degree. 5 years experience with desired 10-15 years experience.
- A minor in a technical field is highly desired (e.g., Math, Physics, Engineering).
- C/C++ programming experience
- Experience with Unix/Linux, Python, the HTTP protocol, and Qt are highly desired.
- Experience with photography and cameras is a plus
- Excellent problems-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills – must be a team player
- Good understanding of client-server software architecture
- Good understanding of Agile software development principles
- Experience or course work in real-time simulation of systems is a plus
