Overview

Reading Hospital, a 600+ bed tertiary care facility located in West Reading and the flagship hispital of Tower Health, Pennsylvania, is seeking an additional Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to support a busy, high-quality OB service of more than 3,500 births per year. Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit contains 30 beds, with a complement of skilled neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, registered dieticians and other supportive servces including speech and physical therapists, and is the only level III NICU in Berks County.

Responsibilities

The Advanced Practitioner functions as a primary health care provider with the responsibility of managing health related problems and conditions. Serves as a clinical leader and works closely with the physicians in managing pre and post op patients, assist with outpatient care, administration of medication, order necessary labs or tests, prescriptions and appropriate documentation of patient charts. This includes consultations for in person, office visits and phone consults with management or others as applicable. Works within specific department with physicians, surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in coordinating and delivering patient care and facilitating communication between the patient and family members as applicable, various hospital departments, the Nursing Team and the Medical Staff on specific indicated issues. Functions as a clinical expert in the area, program or department assigned; dependent on departmental assignment, may be required to have weekend coverage, inpatient consults, rounds, and assists surgeons in specified activities in the operating room.

Qualifications

Education Requirements
  • Masters Degree

Certification and Licensure
  • BLS Certification
  • NNP/CRNP or PA-C with NICU Experience
  • Certification or CE Units Specific To Departmental Area
  • PA Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner License
  • PA-C with NICU Experience
  • PA Registered Nurse License
