Position Overview

The Network Administrators role is to ensure the stability and integrity of enterprise network services. This is achieved by evaluating network performance including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls. This role will operate as a member of the Network Operations team assisting in the implementation and support of SDWAN and local area networks (LANs). Responsibilities also include maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also help analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and

provide end user training where required.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Deploy company LANs, SDWAN, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, AP's, SDWAN, Wi-Fi and other hardware.
  • Maintain networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Assist in troubleshooting incidents and problem areas as needed.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation, maintaining documentation.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions.
  • Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Participate in new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Interact with and lead vendors, manage services, and contractors to ensure proper functionality of the enterprise network services.
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times while representing the company.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related area or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience supporting an enterprise network.
  • Cisco CCNA and/or CCENT and CCNP
  • Experience implementing and supporting SDWAN for large scale enterprise networks
  • Experience supporting an enterprise WAN with a focus on reliability, security and performance
  • Experience with MPLS networks
  • Experience implementing and supporting Cisco DMVPN and Site to Site VPN Tunnels
  • Experience supporting Cisco ASA firewalls including AnyConnect and SSL VPN connectivity
  • Experience implementing and supporting connectivity into Cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
  • Experience with network tools such as Orion Solarwinds (NPM, NCM, NTA), NetFlow, Wireshark

Work Requirements
  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Participation in after-hours on-call rotation
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Report to the office dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required by business needs

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Demonstrate a hands-on, collaborative approach; works well in a team.
  • Demonstrates strong oral / written communication and listening skills.
  • Strong action orientation, drive for results and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven understanding of IP address management and IP subnets
  • Knowledge of IDS systems a plus
  • Strong understanding of network architecture as it relates to servers and SAN Storage
  • Knowledge of Riverbed Steelhead or related WAN acceleration technologies
  • Knowledge/experience of SD-WAN technologies a strong plus
