Overview:

Patients Medical Center (PMC) provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services-wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women's services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.


Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

Model advanced technical and clinical knowledge of the field of nuclear medicine technology. Building on the NMT I position, will be able to independently perform all nuclear medicine procedures as defined by the departmental protocols manual, comply with all regulatory requirements, provide accurate patient assessment/patient preparation, and work cooperatively with other healthcare providers to provide high quality and timely diagnostic and therapeutic information. A desire for continuous self-improvement, as well as identifying and assisting with the improvement needs in others and the overall department is a significant differentiator for this position. The NMT II will actively stay abreast of modality trends and new procedures updates with an eye to incorporate into the department's offerings. Leadership responsibilities include preceptor for new employees and students, modeling professional behavior and temporarily assuming the role of the supervisor in their absence. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES1. Demonstrated mastery of all Tech I Accountabilities / Responsibilities and have complete a minimum of 1 year service in the Tech 1 position 2. Perform in-vitro/in-vivo studies as outlined in the nuclear medicine procedure manuals. Make determinations of the validity of the data collected before submission for interpretation 3. Mentor new employees and students on the proper use of the camera / computer systems, study procedures 4. Appropriately and professionally react to process or procedure deviations 5. Assists with the formal clinical/technical education process of the department by preparing and presenting 2 staff in-services per year on a topical subject 6. Independently perform all Functions regarding the safe and compliant operation of the radio- pharmacy and all associated documentation. Educate and mentor qualified staff on proper radio, pharmacy procedures 7. Maintain effective and efficient work flow while maintaining the quality of the patient care provided 8. Participate in on-call activities 9. Function in a leadership role in the absence of the supervisor including the ability to open - close the department, monitor and effectively react to schedule demands, insure adequate staffing, address professional and technical staff concerns and maintain overall quality of service 10. Maintain data back-ups and data transfer as required by the system administrator to assure no loss of data and compliance with medical information regulations


QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Licensure Required:*Associate's Degree preferred* *NMTCB or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (N) ; must maintain current
*Certified by State of Texas - MRT
*CPR/BLS certification Minimum Experience*Three (3) years Nuclear Medicine experience
