SUMMARY
Coordinates and follows up on activities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinates staffing according to flight schedules.
- Ensure employees report on-time and ready to work.
- Manages employee hours (straight and overtime to minimize labor expenses).
- Works with management to ensure risk assessments are current and up-to-date.
- Ensures employees comply with all safety rules.
- Ensures employees are trained and current on the equipment they use.
- Hold daily safety briefings with the crew.
- Ensures employees are complying with all carrier/customer requirements.
- Assists in the hiring and training of personnel and the coordination of new hire paperwork.
- Conduct performance evaluations on ramp crew.
- Communicates and provides feedback to/from customers (including multiple locations where applicable).
- Directs agents in how to lift, load/unload transport baggage, mail, and cargo to/from aircraft.
- Gains operational certification in ground support equipment.
- Completes daily flight logs, incident/accident reports, and other required paperwork as needed.
- Attends company and carrier meetings as required.
- Adheres to all company policies, practices, and procedures and ensures the same with all personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct supervision of a department involving responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and personnel. Directly supervises 10 employees in Passenger Services. Responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring of employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED; and over one year up to and including three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
