At Reality Labs Research, our goal is to develop the next generation computer vision and machine perception technology we call LiveMaps. We have built research tools like Project Aria to secure the future machine perception core technologies and architecture. As an Operations Program Manager for Reality Labs, you'll be the Single Threaded Leader (STL) for a program operations and the primary Operations interface to the core research and development teams and other cross-functional organizations. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience in managing scalable operations for research devices and platform. The chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will be responsible for running scalable hardware devices operations, interfacing with research community, managing data collection operations with vendors, and optimizing the use of research facilities.

Operation Program Manager, Reality Labs Research Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership, operational strategy and overall direction for scalable research devices program operations
• The use of analytics and metrics to drive the continual refinement and optimization of the service
• Exhibit a history of strong cross functional ability, as well as the continued growth and expansion of partnerships with internal operational stakeholders
• Manage tasking for contingent operations workers, maintain and optimize processes for procurement and contracts
• Communicate status, risks and mitigations to stakeholders and partners, proactively identify potential setbacks and develop mitigation plans
• Understand tradeoffs of potential approaches to spot new, less obvious solutions during planning, and choose accordingly
• Work with budget owners to forecast budgets and track and optimize spending

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as an operations manager, project manager, or business manager at a technology company, research institution, or similar organization
• 2+ years of experience in people management or vendor management
• Experience leveraging communication to influence horizontally, cross functionally, and among executives
• Experience building cross functional relationships and leading effective collaborations
• A track record of planning, executing, and delivering results for complex and cross-functional technical projects
• Experience making quick and effective decisions that affect a team while navigating policy, legal, business, and logistics constraints
• Interpersonal and inter-team skills, including partnership building, mentorship, and conflict resolution within a diverse, cross-functional team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a hard science field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years of experience managing operations at a technology startup or research lab
