Holman is looking for an Operations Manager to join the Holman Family. This role is responsible for planning, ordering and scheduling a wide range of materials to support production schedules in a fast paced manufacturing environment. The Operations Manager will work closely with the Sales, Engineering, and Production Departments to ensure the availability and timely delivery of parts, components and other materials to the distribution centers. Coordination among all stake holders is critical for this role. An ability to think strategically and an understanding of business drivers is essential to include the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Provide thought leadership and guidance to operations in the area of strategic sourcing, procurement services and vendor management.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage company-wide production schedules to effectively utilize available resources in designing and meeting plans for all customer orders.
  • Responsible for the development, reporting, and execution of company-wide production scheduling, capacity planning including internal level loading, and the development of critical control measures to avoid bottlenecks to production efficiencies.
  • Develop Monthly Sales and Operations Planning forecasts to determine capacity plans and balance customer demand with working capital.
  • Monitor manufacturing activities and assist with problems as necessary to meet planned production schedules.
  • Maintain time fences and a formal change control process to review all unplanned requests.
  • Manage the procurement process, ensuring that all Company policies and procedures are adhered to by personnel involved with the procurement, purchasing and supply chain functions.
  • Maintain standards of performance and comply with all production standards and safety procedures.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Training:
  • BA or BS degree or equivalent of five years' experience of manufacturing or product sourcing in a lean manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Demonstrated competency in computer software to include databases, spreadsheets, and word processing and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of Project Management concepts and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Relevant Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly, or the equivalent in a related field, both domestically and internationally preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Project Management concepts and best practices.
  • Experience implementing strategic sourcing plans in support of business unit operations (balancing cost, risk and performance).
  • Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes and techniques.
