Operations Supervisor - Augusta, GA (Off-Shift)

Operations/Production hours are 24 x 7 and requires working varying hours

This position may require approximately 5% travel and work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays.

The incumbent is required to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment, understands and meets internal and external business needs with professionalism and a sense of urgency.

Must be able to execute to plan in any of the production or warehouse areas/shifts. Must possess leadership and communication ability which encourages teamwork and idea generation while remaining focused on results and process improvement.

• Responsible for directing and guiding operators/leads, for their activities for assigned area/shift in the execution of production and/or logistics plans (receiving, processing, mixing, baking, packaging, shipping, etc.), shift change management and communication, daily production standards and labor reconciliation.

• Participate in the development of and implements plans and policies to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility. Operates production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.

• Manages team development of employees to insure proper mixing, machining, and packaging in assigned areas according to targeted specifications to achieve total quality.

• Develops Lead employees on all responsibilities associated with their lines and promotes a positive attitude.

• Handles problem solving process to resolve and/or mitigate those operational issues result in negative performance to plan as determined by the established escalation process.

• Responsible for support for Lean Training as directed by Operations Manager for assigned area/shift.

• Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, lean processes, 5S, SIC, DMS, DDS, etc.

• Drives compliance with all regulations including food safety, plant in proper sanitary conditions at all times ensuring allergen control, pest control, and organizational guidelines are followed.

• Ensures achievement of all area/shift key performance indicators and work towards adherence to continuous improvement.

• Participates in employee relations and training.

• Aggressively looks for opportunities to improve plant performance.

• Document and escalate supplier issues/non-conformance.

• Participate in daily product review.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.

• Supports talent management process for hourly employees.

• Backfill for other Supervisors or Managers as needed.

• Strong problem solving ability

• Experience in manufacturing including processing, packing, and mechanical aptitude

• Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office and SAP

Experiences that will support your success

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations or related business discipline preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in supervision of team members within a manufacturing or distribution environment
