The impact you will have could be anything from delivering products that help a scientist discover a cure for cancer to helping a nurse care for a patient effectively because they have the right equipment.

A Day in the Life:

  • Ensure all parts are hung in the proper color order on automated line.
  • Verify that the proper part number, quantity, color and destination is present.
  • Removes painted items and visually inspects for any defects and proper coverage. Touch up small defects as needed.
  • Applies different protective supplies to make certain all parts delivered to the assembly lines are free of any dings / dents, scratches, and scuff marks.
  • Delivers finished goods to manufacturing lines or stores in designated racks.
  • Provides support and coverage on all operations in area as requested and trained by supervisor. Cross training and flexibility required.
  • Performs all duties using required safety procedures and equipment according to company policies and practices within guidelines of ISO standards, quality, and safety.
  • Maintains clean and organized work area that supports co-workers as well as safety and efficiency.
  • Engages, initiates, and suggest initiatives that support team goals and continuous improvement in process.
  • Communicates effectively within cell or with other departments to relay key information.
  • Open to and asks for suggestions of others regarding production issues and goals.
  • Utilizes computer systems to check e-mail, complete online training and complete Performance Management and Development (PMD), annual review process.
  • Work with your team to make sure everyone has a magical experience working at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience

  • Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers, tuggers, forklifts).
  • Experience with computers and scanning equipment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to stand and move about the warehouse for significant periods of time (involving walking, stooping, bending, and reaching) required.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Desire to work as part of a team, but also able to work independently and solve problems quickly.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
