Description:

Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required.

A. Education

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.

B. Licensure / Certification

Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.

C Special Skill / Aptitudes

Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary in order to deal effectively with various levels of

hospital personnel, outside customers and community groups.

D. Experience

One (1) to two (2) year of service specialty in the O.R.

Familiar with budgets and cost containment issues.

Job

Ensures safe, and achieve of quality patient care outcomes for appropriate acquisition and allocation of

supplies, equipment and instrumentation.

Effectively solves problems, deals with crises, and manages conflict as it relates to the specialty, utilizing

resources such as clinical supervisor, nurse educator, CSR supervisor and clinical director.

Role modes RN Care Manager behaviors, functions as a clinical resource, and mentors staff in clinical

leadership skills, providing input as indicated for evaluation purposes.

Communicates effectively with staff, peers, supervisors, physicians and other members of the health care

team.

Works in partnership with physicians to continuously improve the quality of the care of patients by

effectively collaborating for the economical and efficient acquisition and use of supplies, equipment and

instrumentation.

Facilitates 6 and supports change on the unit.

Supports organizational, division and unit strategic goals, programs and activities, and actively participates in

the unit based Shared Governance Council.

Evaluates own performance utilizing input from peers, team member, customer, and develops a plan for

continual improvement.

Maintains clinical expertise through circulating and scrubbing in specialty area, self study, continuing

education programs, formal education programs, and/or participation in professional organizations.

10 Responds appropriately to changes in unit workloads, patient census and/or staffing levels.

Supports and conducts one's self in a manner consistent with customer service expectations.

In accordance with unit or departmental practice, determines that appropriate charges have been entered for

the correct patient, encounter, date/time of service, with any required modifiers. Make corrections as needed

per charge capture policy/practice.



In accordance with unit or departmental practice, actively participates in on-going education and

communication regarding revenue management.



In accordance with unit or departmental practice, assists with tracking and monitoring of equipment assigned

to the unit. Requests services for maintaining equipment as needed.



In accordance with unit or departmental practice, proficient with the electronic health records for

documentation, assessment, and care management, performing these activities concurrently with provision of

care throughout the shift.



Physical ability • required to lift, bend, push, and pull.

Working in a clinical environment may result in exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous

substances.
