Our Savannah River Mill, Consumer Products facility in Rincon, GA has immediate openings for an Outage Coordinator - Pulp department. As the pulp department's Operations Coordinator, you will leverage your relationships with the operations team as well as your team members as outlined in the Asset Maintenance Work Process (AMWP) to ensure that the department is receiving the support needed to safely produce quality pulp on time and at the lowest cost. You will own the department's vision for safety and reliability by prioritizing department needs to achieve both present and future success. This will be accomplished through effective communication and teamwork amongst the group alongside the principled adherence to AMWP (Work Identification, Gatekeeping, Planning, Approval, Material Coordination, Scheduling, Execution, Evaluation).

Our Savannah River Mill in Rincon, GA began operations in October 1986 and is considered a world-class operation in the industry. Five of the world's 12 largest tissue paper machines reside at the facility. Our operation is designed to produce products primarily from recycled fiber. We have over 50 converting lines that make the tissue, towel, and napkin products in our retail and away from home markets. Schedule:
The Mill operates 24/7 and 365 days per year. Therefore, our mill operates using a 12-hour rotating schedule that includes holidays, weekends, overtime and on call. Our rotating schedule allows for a regular 14 days off every 4-week period. See example below.

DS=Day Shift 6:50 A.M.-7:10 P.M.
NS= Night Shift 6:50 P.M.-7:10 A.M.
O = Off

What You Will Do

  • Review in-process work notifications & ensure operations-led troubleshooting was attempted (when applicable), adequate and accurate information is present, and no duplicate work orders exist.
  • Review the priority of the work and verify that the priority value is correct.
  • Identify outage-only work and record the requirement by using the revision code system. For non-outage work, enter a revision code that aligns with the department's needs.
  • Ensure planning, material coordination, scheduling, and gatekeeping resources are aware of urgent needs.
  • Relay in-process work notification deficiencies to the appropriate asset owners so that they can coach/train the notification submitters accordingly.
  • Convert in-process work notifications to work orders after they meet the proper criteria.
  • Utilize SAP's revision code system to maintain a 3-week prioritized work lookahead. Create this lookahead alongside the Scheduler and Gatekeeper. Escalate appropriate needs in the Weekly Prioritization Meeting.
  • Utilize SAP's revision code system to create outage work lists and lead the Weekly Outage Meeting to discuss the status of outage work lists in the T28+ horizon.
  • Utilize outage planning tools to communicate outage details to operations and other relevant stakeholders so that required manpower can be allocated in advance.
  • Ensure operations resources are available to complete equipment preparation, isolation, LOTO, permits, etc safely and on time to support maintenance activities. This includes weekly, outage, and break-in work.
  • Ensure operations resources are available to safely bring equipment back into service once maintenance work is complete. This includes weekly, outage, and break-in work.
  • Ensure maintenance resources are being fully utilized to address prioritized operational issues. If unplanned work impacts cash fixed or breaks the maintenance schedule, seek approval from the Gatekeeper and provide justification.
  • Track AMWP deficiencies alongside the Gatekeeper and utilize the learnings to drive valuable and sustainable change within the process and amongst the team.
  • Ensure operations-led work orders (eg. wire repairs, basement cleaning) are prioritized and completed.
  • Act as the GPR for operations-led 3 rd party tasks (eg. cleaning, hydroblasting) and other 3 rd party tasks as needed.
  • Effective communications both written and oral with customers, co-workers, management team, etc.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 6 years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a reliability or maintenance focused and/or Pulp mill roles.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Working knowledge of maintenance best practices including precision maintenance, lubrication, equipment installation, and facility preservation.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience organizing, scheduling, and executing tasks.
  • Experience managing 3 rd party contractors as a small project/job leader.
  • Experience working in work order management systems (SAP Asset Care)
